Frosty the Sno-Man Sno-Cone maker is a toy that if you actually used it on a regular basis would give you the forearms of Popeye. Originally produced in then 1960s, this particular version of the toy is a re-issue from 1974, item 5230. Included everything you needed to open your own sno-cone business including a hat and apron. The 1960s version came with a pipe in his mouth which must have become politically incorrect (or just harder to manufacture) by the 1970s. Below Frosty are the other sno-cone makers in my collection.
Other toys in my collection where you create something edible: Chocolate Factory from Emenee, Chuck E. Cheese Pizza Factory by Wham-O, Kandy Kitchen by Transogram, Incredible Edibles by Mattel, Mr. Peanut Peanut Butter Maker by Broadway Toys, Queasybake Cookerator by Hasbro.
Kenner's feeble attempt at a sno-cone machine, the Ice Bird allowed you to freeze a block of ice that you then ran the bird across to shave. Seems just a bit more dangerous than the Frosty machine above. Item number 4660 dated 1976 (though it appears much older).
A couple of other sno-cone makers I've picked up through the years. The Peanuts one is from Playskool while the Kool-Aid one is from Lanard Toys. Both are from 1985. The instructions for the Snoopy toy are online compliments of Hasbro (which is Ideal, Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers, and Playskool).
